Many great images of the Maroon Bells show sunrise light just hitting the peaks with the golden glow, but I arrived in the dark and started shooting just as the twilight was starting and before the sun was at the horizon. I was rewarded as the soft clouds above the peaks caught the early light and reflected into the still perfectly calm and glassy lake.
